Privacy Policy
LittleStacks is a small app made for parents. We keep what we collect to the minimum we need to make the app work for your family, and we don't sell or rent any of it.
What we collect
When you create an account we store your email address (or your Apple Private Relay email, if you Sign in with Apple). When you scan a book or add a kid we store the book metadata and your kid's first name and birth month/year. The shelf photo you scan is uploaded only long enough for us to identify the books, then deleted as soon as recognition finishes. If a scan fails or is interrupted, any leftover photo is removed automatically within 24 hours. We don't keep your shelf photos. Kid avatars stay on your device and are never uploaded. When you log a reading session we store the date, the book, and the kid.
How we use it
Your library, kids, and reading log are used to power the app for you and anyone you invite to your family. We use AI to (a) identify book titles from your shelf photos and (b) recommend what to read tonight. Your kid's first name may be passed to our AI providers (Anthropic via AWS Bedrock, and Google Gemini) so the recommendation can mention them by name. These providers process the prompt under data-processing terms that do not allow them to train on or sell the data, and they retain it only briefly (if at all) for their own abuse monitoring.
What we never do
We do not intentionally send kid names, parent emails, reading logs, shelf photos, or invite tokens into analytics or crash reports, and we scrub direct identifiers from diagnostic events. We do not sell your data. We do not track you across apps or websites. We do not show advertising.
Children
LittleStacks is a parent's tool. The app is not designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe your child has signed up, please contact support and we'll delete the account.
Sharing
The only people who can see your family's books, kids, and reading log are you and the co-parent you explicitly invite to your family. Our service providers (Supabase for storage, RevenueCat for subscription billing, Apple for sign-in and payments, Anthropic and Google for AI) process data on our behalf under their own privacy commitments.
Your rights
You can delete your account at any time from Account · Delete account inside the app. This permanently wipes your library, kids, and reading log. You can also email us to ask what we have on file or to request a copy. We will respond within 30 days.
California (CCPA)
If you live in California you have the right to know what personal information we have, to delete it, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We don't sell or share personal information, but you can still exercise your other rights by emailing support@getlittlestacks.com.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects what we collect or how we use it, we'll show you a notice the next time you open the app.
